I would stick with what you had in the first place, everyone has thier favorite plug it seems.

I used to run the same engine, I set the low end needle as per the book...and the high end was about one and three quarters of a turn open...seemed happy enough there but this can depend on sea level...or how how high you are.

Try this.

Heli sat idleing...pinch the fuel tube about 3 to 4 cms from the carb..listen carefully. If the engine picks up its revs straightaway then the low end is too lean...so richen it slightly...try again.

If you get 3 or 4 seconds of constant revs before it picks up then you are about right...go ahead and fly.

The idle has a big affect on the engine from idle up to hover....the main needle also affects the whole range.

I would err on the rich side as this will save your engine...I aim for speckles of oil on the skid below the silencer/muffler myself...this shows that oil is getting through.

You could try the other plug as suggested by the others but you might have to rehash the carb settings...its up to you.

A good indicator is this...go fly around...do loads of hovering and land...feel the engine backplate...if its hot then you are running lean on the main needle...so richen slightly. A warm backplate is ok....but not hot.

Beware though...because other causes of hot backplates are: drive belts too tight and/or the blade pitch range being a bit too steep in some areas.
