Avoid Distraction

The weather's been too crappy lately to fly my CP outdoors, so I've been getting my heli fix with my little CX2.

Now let me preface this by pointing out that this isn't your stock CX2. She has an extended core, Xtreme hard blades, a shortened flybar with hard aluminum weights and a 15C output battery. I've also moved the servo linkages out. The result of all this is a much faster, more responsive and considerably less docile heli than the one that came out of the box.

So I'm flying around the living room, thoroughly enjoying myself, when my cat bounds into the room. During this moment of distraction, the heli floats up into the light fixture on the ceiling. Before I can react, the hard metal weights on the flybar strike a globe, shattering it and the bulb within. Spectacular! The blades fold and the heli drops as broken glass cascades all around. The whole event seemed as though in slow motion.

Both the cat and I escaped injury. The only damage to the heli was a broken landing skid (tough little bird).

Spent the next hour picking up broken glass and wishing there was someone there that could have taken pictures...
