It's really not normal that you have this excessive play - this is a clear sign that they are worn. I would replace them. I have flown a Shuttle for years and I've seen this with mine. You will get vibrations which will give the gyro problems and makes controlling the heli very difficult. I speak from experience here, it cheaper to replace them. A good option is the Quick UK upgrade rotor blade holders. Hope this helps !
