Re: Hot scale helicopters

Hi,there is a hole in fuselage forward of cyl head for glow plug access .I am pretty sure this is an overheating problem though
You are correct it is an overheating problem

What is happening is the fan on your mechanics is pushing the hot air from the engine around
This warm air in turn is getting forced down to the bottom of the fuse bouncing back up as it has nowhere to escape and getting sucked in by the fan and the process starts all over again and in the meantime your engine is getting hotter and hotter

Now to remedy this you need to do one of two things fit additional cooling fans (computer fans ) or cut a hole in the base of the fuse to allow the hot air to escape
The hole i recommend starts just forward of the cylinder head, Is as wide as the cylinder head and goes to the rear and past the cylinder head by at least
1/2 An inch
To hide the hole get some fine mesh, bend it to match the fuselage and glue it into position
When its painted with the rest of the fuse you will not notice it when it is in the air

A small hole to access the glow isn't going to work i'm afraid
