You can get icing conditions if its damp and freezing as well.....I havent experienced this yet...there will be a build up of ice on the blades leading edges...
Otherwise, winter flying is ok....the air is cooler so there is more lift...with the air being denser.
Trouble is is getting seriously cold....I dont feel the same way ...flying with gloves.
