You could be looking at a headspeed issue.....too high a headspeed and the motor will scream it guts out.....the ESC may be registering too high....the collective pitch setting may need an increase....because blade pitch does have a big part to play in how well an engine runs....and vice versa....just to confuse you.

Example: on a nitro the engine can be set up on a bench or in the heli, you add head loaders and tune the engine up till it runs really good....BUT...add the blades and go flying and the engine is all out of tune again....beacuse the loads are different...you have collective AND cyclic pitch....which alters the loads that the engine has to cope with.....so you have to strike a happy medium.

I have very little experience with electrics....so dont take my advice too seriously.....the headspeed and loading are relevant of course....but as to how your particular machine is set....I wouldnt know....but you could try altering the power curve on the ESC/motor control....try reducing the setting at ....say....mid stick and see how it flys. I understand that motors do get hot...but too hot will reduce its lifespan for sure.

Your transmitter is computer type? if so then alteing the power curves should be easy enough.....consult your manual very carefully as well.
