I JUST got my Shogun flying today, it also has the recomended brushless setup.
We got the thing to hover VERY happy at around 1650 to 1700 RPM. This was with the motor at about 60% power, full throttle and the blades are WHIZZING!
For me, learing basic maneuvers, there was no need to crank things up yet (Plus it's Much more intimidating!) so 1650 had it hovering much more quietly but still with good authority.
I'm a total Newb, so I'm not sure if these numbers are the best or not, but my buddy helping me is VERY proficient (Steve cole at Awesome Hobbies 707-433-4888) and has me under his wing. He's a great guy to get stuff from, very knowledgeable especially with the nitro Raptor series helis. |
